THERAPIST

Amanda Steijlen, RMHCI

Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern

Amanda is the heart and soul behind True Bloom Therapy. As a therapist with a disability herself, she brings a compassionate and unique perspective to her work, offering understanding and support to individuals and couples that are navigating disabilities, chronic illness, anxiety, and life transitions.

Amanda’s approach is rooted in the five basic needs: love & belonging, power & self worth, fun & enjoyment, and freedom. By addressing these core needs, she helps clients create a foundation for lasting change and healing. Additionally, Amanda utilizes solution-focused therapy, which focuses on your strengths and the solutions that will bring about positive change in your life. This strengths-based approach empowers you to take actionable steps toward your goals and overcome obstacles, all while focusing on the future and what’s possible.

Whether you’re adjusting to life with a disability, facing a significant life change, or seeking support for anxiety, Amanda combines her lived experience and professional expertise to help you thrive. Her goal is to guide you through your challenges, helping you build resilience, confidence, and a sense of empowerment on your journey toward healing and growth.

THERAPIST

Karen Gonzalez Videla, RMHCI

Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern

Karen is an Argentinian therapist who has lived in Florida for over a decade. Immigrating to the United States while growing up gave her a different perspective on life and she uses that experience as motivation to learn about different cultural realities in the counseling setting.

Karen employs a humanistic approach first that prioritizes empathy regarding these lived experiences and places clients' wants and needs at the forefront of the therapeutic journey. She also incorporates evidence-based approaches like reality therapy and solution-focused therapy that focus on goal setting and implementing life changes. Additionally, she believes in the power of nature-inspired interventions and will be happy to incorporate those with clients who want a therapeutic approach rooted in environmentalism.

If you are struggling with general anxiety, eco-anxiety, the immigrant experience, or recent life changes, Karen will work with you to help you manage these and become the best version of yourself that you can be. Karen offers individual counseling sessions in both English and Spanish.
